Baker, WV (January 2025)– Capon Valley Bank is proud to celebrate the careers and contributions of two esteemed employees, Joann Byrd and Don Henderson as they prepare for their well-deserved retirements.

Joann Byrd’s journey with Capon Valley Bank began in November 1984 when she was hired as a teller. Shortly after, she took on additional responsibilities, assisting Alan Brill with operations. By July 1985, Joann began balancing dual roles as Internal Auditor and Operations Specialist. In January 2001, she transitioned to Branch Manager of the Baker office, where she has been a cornerstone of the branch’s success. Joann’s retirement plans include volunteering with outreach programs at her home church, Faith Mission Church in Wardensville, as well as enjoying family time, gardening, reading, cooking, and traveling to the beach.

Don Henderson joined Capon Valley Bank on April 30, 2001, as the Assistant Branch Manager of the Baker office. Over the years, Don has been a dedicated and invaluable part of our team, contributing to the growth and success of the Baker branch. In retirement, Don plans to focus on home projects and enjoy some well-earned relaxation.

The Baker office will continue to thrive under new leadership. Alicia Ruffner has been appointed Branch Manager, and Amanda Wilkins will step into the role of Head Teller. Their expertise and commitment will ensure the continued success of the Baker branch.
