Frequently Asked Questions

What is Credit Score and More?

Credit Score and More helps you stay on top of your credit by providing your latest credit score and report while helping you understand key factors that impact your score. It also monitors your credit daily and alerts you via email if significant changes occur, such as a new account opening, a change in address or employment, delinquency, or a credit inquiry.

Does Credit Score and More offer credit monitoring?

Yes! Credit Score and More monitors your credit and sends email alerts when there are changes to your credit profile.

Is there a fee for Credit Score and More?

No, Credit Score and More is completely free for Capon Valley Bank members.

Will accessing Credit Score and More impact my credit score?

No. Credit Score and More performs a “soft inquiry,” which does not affect your credit score. Only “hard inquiries,” typically made by lenders when you apply for a loan, can impact your score.

How often is my credit score updated?

Your credit score is updated every seven days and is displayed in both mobile and online banking. You can also click “Refresh Score” daily for the most up-to-date information.

What if the information provided by Credit Score and More is incorrect?

Credit Score and More strives to display the most relevant and accurate information from your credit report. If you believe there is an error, you can obtain a free credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com and dispute inaccuracies directly with each credit bureau. Capon Valley Bank users can also dispute information with TransUnion by clicking the “Dispute” link within Credit Score and More. If the inaccuracy is verified, TransUnion will share the correction with the other bureaus.

Why do credit scores differ?

Credit scores vary because three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) and two scoring models (FICO and VantageScore) are used to calculate scores. Different financial institutions rely on different bureaus and scoring models. Additionally, over 200 factors may be considered when calculating a score, and each model weighs these factors differently.

Does Capon Valley Bank use Credit Score and More for loan decisions?

No, Capon Valley Bank uses its own lending criteria to make loan decisions.
